9 months

Well Brooklyn now has 2 teeth and all the sudden feeding herself clicked.  It was so fun watching her figure that out.  Now meal times are crazy and messy.  :)  There is really nothing she doesn't like yet, we even started some scrambled eggs and she loves them!!!!

In April we made a trip to Redmond, OR to be Godparents to our friends baby Karlyn.  It was such an honor and we had a great time being visitors.

Memorial Day we took Brooklyn on her first camping trip.  It was great until we all froze our butts off.  So needless to say too early to go but we cuddled and stayed warm till morning.  Then loaded up and left.  We then did another camping trip in the Wyoming area in June.  That was much more enjoyable and Brooklyn LOVED it.  She loves dirt, sticks and she even stuck with her schedule sleeping in the tent or carseat.  We were very impressed!!

Brooklyn loves nursery rhymes and has her favorite bed time books now too.  She is exploring with new sounds.  She likes to play peek a boo, how big, itsy bitsy spider, and is starting to pull herself up.  She absolutely loves to stand and you to help her walk.  I dunno maybe she is just going to skip crawling!! lol

We go for her 9 month check up really at 10 months, due to a scheduling issue.  So I will update then as well.

8 months old

Well I think we may just possibly have the happiest baby on the block.....or she might be that she is the only baby on the block.....lol!!  Either way she is such a joy.  A little late on this post, as she is now 9 months and I have even more photos to catch up on.  Brooklyn is finally getting more hair and we finally had one tooth come thru!!  YAY, long time coming.  Although since we are still breastfeeding I don't know how excited I really am.  She loves to eat.....we have even tried some finger foods.  She has no idea what to do though and usually just smashes them into between her hands/fingers.  She claps like crazy and we started some sign language.  She understands what they mean,  but hasn't actually given the signs back to us.  Bath time is now crazy with lots of splashing and laughing.  We have been swimming a few times and going to do swim lessons in July.  She has not started moving yet (praise Jesus) but boy can she get around.  She rolls to her hearts content and is starting to scoot backwards.....we will see when she figures out the forward motion.  She likes to get on all 4's, but then just rocks back and forth.  Still loves her johnny jump up and likes to walk around with you holding her hands.  And she is a chatterbox, boy o boy does she have a lot to say!!  We may be in trouble when she actually starts talking.... I think that is it for now, love to all!

Special Things

I love watching my child light up with the new things that she experiences.  The other day I put her in the shopping cart for the 1st time instead of putting her in the pack.  I'ven ever seen someone so excited, screaming and kicking her legs.  We were definitely getting some looks in Costco.  Such joy on her little face, wish I would have gotten a video.

Spring Fever.....

Well we already have spring fever.....yet it still snows.  Which we will take the snow in hopes that the house doesn't catch fire this summer.  But on those nice days I find myself wanting to go fishing and camping.....yet a little hard to do when the lakes are still frozen.

Life is good with our girl.  She has such an amazing, fun personality already.  She is eating two solid meals a day and I have thoroughly enjoyed making homemade baby purees for her.  She takes 2 naps a day and sleeps 11 hours at night on a pretty regular basis.  At night we are wearing 12 month pj's....and as a whole wearing 6-12 or just 12 month outfits.  We are still cloth diapering and we love it.  We have graduated out of the infant seat due to the weight of having to carry her around.  Plus she seems to enjoy the carseat much more now.  Plus we have a thick, tall girl....weighed her today and got 21 lbs.

Brooklyn loves water, she kicks and screams for bath time, so we decided to take her swimming.....she loved it!!  Water baby for sure.  She still loves the exersaucer and now the johnny jumper which is hilarious.  It is like she is doing an exercise routine!!  She does a lot of rocking while sitting and at times launches onto her tummy.  She will get in the crawling position now but just rocks, doesn't quite know what to do.....which is fine with me. I like this non mobile stage. :)

She is quite the chatterbox too, new sounds everyday it seems!! And the facial expressions are getting hilarious.  She is getting more enthralled with the dogs, and they really are good with letting her pull on their hair, ears etc. Our lab, Hunter, even thinks she wants to play at some points and will put toys in her lap.  Although this usually leads to Brooklyn trying to put them in her mouth...ew!

We took a trip to visit Brooklyn's great grandparents, B was just about 6 months.  She blew us out of the water with how amazing of a traveler and trooper she was with little naps, messed up schedule and first time on an airplane.  She virtually slept both ways on the flights and she never once had a melt down.

We started taking her to church on a more regular basis now and we are actually going to get her baptized at the end of July.  We had a lovely Easter with Brooklyn's cousins!!!  They just all love each other so much., it's special.
